What is Organic Potato Fertiliser?

 Organic Potato fertiliser is a type of fertiliser which helps to provide nutrients to potato plants to promote healthy growth. Using the fertiliser will help you increase your potato harvest. The fertiliser is suitable for use with potato barrels and other planters too. Potato fertiliser is also recommended for other vegetable crops.

Why is Potato fertiliser beneficial?

Organic Potato Fertiliser gives a slow release of nutrients over a long period of time to produce a large crop of healthy tubers. It enriches compost in both barrels and tubs,  promoting soil life and preventing nutrient deficiency.

What size is the pack?

The pack size is 1kg.

How do I use the Organic Potato Fertiliser?

For direct planting:

Use the Vitax Organic Potato Fertiliser before planting between February and April.
Apply 135g/sq. m (4oz per sq.yd) over the empty plot and lightly fork into the soil.

For Planting: 

 Dig a trench with a spade 10-15cm (4-6in) deep. Place seed potatoes in the trench 30cm (12in) apart, with the shoots uppermost. After planting cover the seed potatoes by pulling the soil from either of the trench to form a ridge above.

Potato Barrels and Other Planters:

Seed potatoes can be grown in any container bigger than 30cm (12in) wide and 30cm (12in) deep.
Please note that good drainage is essential for planting.
We recommend using multipurpose compost.
Place several seed potatoes 15cm (6in) below the container rim.
Next, fill the rim with compost that contains added organic potato fertiliser.

Apply Vitax Organic Potato Fertiliser at a rate of 140g/sq. m (4oz/sq. yd). This is equivalent for typical pot sizes.

Place the containers in a sunny position and water during the summer months. Ensure to protect the plants from frost to prevent any damage.
